About Mr. Benson
Matt Benson is the Computer Technology teacher at Lincoln Middle School. This is his third year at Lincoln. Prior to joining the Lincoln staff, Matt was a high school social studies teacher in Fort Morgan, CO where he taught history, geography, psychology, government, and student senate.
Matt grew up in Colorado Springs and attended Colorado State University. He spent his first two years there pursuing a construction management degree. After lots of soul-searching and multiple discussions with his parents (both educators), he changed his major to history/social studies education. As a teacher, Matt combines his passion for computers with active learning to create a fun and stimulating classroom environment.
Matt and his wife Jeret love living in Fort Collins. Not only is this the town where they met and fell in love but it is also a place that allows them to enjoy life to the fullest. Their free time is spent fly-fishing, trail running, snowboarding, cycling, backpacking, gardening, and hiking with their Labradoodle and Puggle.
